Subsea Quick Dump Module (SQDM)

SQDM

This patented technology reduces the time required to bleed down a subsea hydraulic system in a dual loss of comms event by facilitating an in-situ hydraulic dump at the tree or subsea distribution unit.  This is a risk response solution for operators which prevents having to shut-in wells that don't meet the regulatory requirements for bleed down times.  This solution is used with multiplexed (MUX) subsea control systems.

Our driver for developing the Subsea Hydraulic Quick Dump System was to improve the production availability for operators and eliminate costly use of larger ID hydraulic tubes in the umbilical.  TSI can also deliver a technology that ties into existing systems and will work with the operator to ensure the system is built with the hardware used by the operator.

TSI is also available to assist with the development or update of a hydraulic analysis, whether contracted directly through a hardware supplier or engineering firm.  Understanding the hydraulic response time of a subsea system is critical to understanding how to best leverage the Subsea Hydraulic Quick Dump System or if the technology is even required.

Services Features and Benefits

This patented technology helps operators to continue production in a dual loss of communications situation.

A single SHQD can be introduced into existing hydraulic distribution systems to shift the minimum hydraulic bled times enough to mee the minimum regulatory bleed times.

The hardware interface can be tailored to match existing infrastructure. If high accumulated volumes and long step outs are plaguing your shut down times, Tesla Subsea can help you evaluate how to best reduce those times using this patented solution.
